The Every Day Bike

Our move in 2001 to the California coast inspired a brand new addition the Kish lineup. The Townie takes the best parts of beach cruisers, mountain bikes, and touring machines and turns them into a bicycle greater than the sum of its parts. Picture a beach cruiser capable of all-day treks. Or a touring bike that’s perfectly suited to running errands around town or meandering down the strand. The Townie is that and a whole lot more. It’s a bike you can ride every day.

The Townie’s geometry is relaxed, the low bottom bracket and taller head tube put you in a comfortable, upright position that will let you cruise all day. Townies can be set up for with whatever parts best suit your style. Some Townies lean more toward an MTB, sporting 29 inch wheels, fat tires, disc brakes and wide, swooping handlebars. Others are set up more like a simple, traditional city bike with internally geared hubs, fenders and racks. Either way, this will be a bike you can ride every day, whether it’s a quick jaunt to your favorite watering hole, or an all day cruise on the boardwalk.
